Due to continued growth of the MetroBox business we are looking for an experienced Administrator with solid Client Service experience to join our small, dynamic and very hardworking team.
Your Primary role is to provide full administrative support to your assigned clients (shipping companies), Team members, Depot and Head Office staff. Your key tasks include:
Effectively managing your clients in a pro-active manner
Providing estimates accurately and timely
Problem solving client queries
Maintaining regular client care call cycles
Attending on site client meetings
Data Input and Report Creation
Client invoicing and account queries
General Office Administration Support
The nature of this fast paced shipping and freight industry demands the requirement for you to perform effectively under pressure and often to tight deadlines. There is no room for error so your accuracy levels, attention to detail and time management skills will certainly be tested!
Reporting to the Office Manager this is a small, close knit team forming a non-corporate but professional, friendly culture. Ideally we are seeking someone with the following experience:
3+ years Administration and Customer Service experience or similar role of Client Services
Experience within the shipping or freight industry would be of interest but not essential
Excellent keyboard and MS Office skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management
Experience working within a fast paced industry with time critical deadlines
Self-managing, pro-active with good use of initiative
Professional and approachable with a very strong Customer focus
Due to the nature of the industry with cargo moving to and from the ports, the hours of employment are:
7:30am 5:00pm Monday to Friday (45 hours / week)
7:00am 3:00pm Saturday (7 ½ hours) **ONE SATURDAY PER MONTH ONLY**
(The hours are paid via an hourly rate with time and a half paid for all hours worked over 40)

POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a newly created position as part of the Materials Handling vision and growth strategy within Viscount NZ. The objective and expectations are clear: achieve identified growth and targeted revenue. This is done through effective and efficient utilisation of Suppliers, Distributor Networks and Client Relationships with a strong focus on solution sales and customer service in line with the integrity and core values Viscount represents. Although market research and target prospects have been identified there is literally no limit on industry specific targets so the position offers an exciting and enormous reign of scope for a true hunter!
Reporting through to the NZ Materials Handling Sales Manager, you will work together very closely in driving the Materials Handling business forward. Pivotal to this also are key internal relationships with Packaging Sales, Key Account Managers, Operations and Planning, Customer Services, Project Design Engineer and the General Manager. Predominantly Auckland based there will be some out of town travel required (maximum of 5 days per month).
EXPERIENCE
We are looking for very specific experience. To be successful you will need to have
proven experience as a Business Development Manager with:
Experience within a manufacturing environment
(Plastics or Packaging preferred but not will consider similar product lines of manufacture)
Experience with or exposure to Materials Handling products
(Eg; Logistics/Distribution)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Solution Sales approach and understanding of long sales cycle
Exceptional Time Management (Planning/Organising/Prioritsing)
Ability to identify sales opportunities and act promptly
Proven Business Development and Sales achievements
Strong negotiating skills
The Materials Handling product range is made up of Bins, Crates and Pallets of varying specifications which can be tailored to the customer requirements. The price points vary but are considered high value assets with a selling technique based around solution selling. As is often with big ticket items there are often long sales cycles so you must have experience working in this manner.
